The Italian Ministry of Health recognized FiberPasta ® as being “ food suitable for people suffering from the troubles of glucose metabolism (diabetes) ”
Decree nr. 600.12/8114 of 10/12/01

FiberPasta

It's a dietetic pasta having the same pleasant taste as durum wheat pasta, despite containing 15% of fibre, that means more than twice the fibre of dark whole-wheat pasta. FiberPasta is made with the 98% durum wheat and the addition of 2% inulin (soluble vegetal fibre).

The high amount of soluble and non-soluble fibre contained in FiberPasta is useful for DIABETES, OVERWEIGHT, CHOLESTEROL and CONSTIPATION.

FiberPasta properties:

- Increasing satiety sensation without swelling of belly.

- Stabilizing intestinal functions.

- Reducing carbohydrate absorption and contributing to cholesterol level control and weight reduction.

- Giving the body more energy for a long time, thanks to the slow carbohydrate absorption. For this reason FiberPasta is really suitable for sport diet.

- FiberPasta contains no bran lignin that gives dark colour and unpleasant taste, and is the responsible for causing the reduction of mineral absorption.

- The total amount of fibre includes the 4,5% of resistant starch, obtained by a special physical process.  It's resistant to digestion so it helps slow absorption of carbohydrates by delaying and reducing the glycemic peak.

FIBRE

Dietary fibre belongs to the carbohydrates group, but on the contrary it takes no calories (the few ones are burned to absorb the fibre itself).
Fibre can be soluble and non soluble.
The non soluble one decreases the sensation of hunger and is useful for weight reduction, constipation (mostly in hypocaloric and hypolipidic diets, where, due to fats reduction, it's more difficult to regulate the intestine). It prevents colon-rectal tumours too.
Soluble fibre forms a gel and delays sugars and fats absorption helping reduce blood cholesterol level. Soluble fibre is useful for people with diabetes, because it delays and reduces the glycemic peak.

INULIN

It's a soluble dietetic fibre obtained from chicory.
Many studies clearly show how the inulin intake is good for intestinal flora, because it stimulates the growth of healthy intestinal bacteria which supports good colon health.

RESISTANT STARCH

It favours the slow carbohydrate absorption, by delaying and reducing the glycemic peak.
Moreover, like soluble fibre, it feeds bifidobacteria. That's why inulin and resistant starch have a very good prebiotic action. Prebiotics are non digestible food ingredients benefiting the body thanks to selective stimulation of the growth and/or to activation of one or more intestinal bacteria, allowing to rebalance the intestinal flora.
